Children Trust Michigan (CTM) wants to help all parents and caregivers by giving them resources that fit what their communities need. We want to make sure these resources are easy to find and good for all families.
CTM gives money to groups in all 83 counties of Michigan. We want to have more information for all parents and caregivers on this website. We want to be a place you can trust to find information, fun things to do, workshops, ways to learn and grow, and chances to meet other people.
We also share research for all families. We know that every family is different. What works for one family might not work for another. So, we will try hard to help in many different ways.
We believe that when families are strong, kids are strong, and that makes communities stronger.
Helping All Parents & Caregivers
Being a parent is tough, and kids don't come with directions. It's like the saying, "it takes a village" to raise a child. This is still very true today. But the people who help can be different. Some families have grandparents and other family nearby. Other families find friends online who believe the same things they do. No matter how parents get help, we all need it!
Below, you will find helpful ideas for all families. Then, you will see more ideas for families that are a little different. If you want to learn more about families in Michigan, check out this great website from United for Alice:
HOPEful Families
HOPE is for everyone. It's about good things that happen to kids. These good things help them grow up healthy and strong. HOPE can help families. It gives them chances to have happy times. Every family can pick what works for them.
Support Family Foundations
The Strengthening Families Protective Factors have five parts. Even small changes in these areas can make a big difference. Protective factors help keep families safe. They are like superpowers that help when things get tough or scary. Think of them as a shield for families
Resources
List of Services
- Fathers
In the last ten years, we have learned how important fathers are. Dads always knew they mattered.
- Kinship Families
Kinship care is when family members like grandparents, aunts, uncles, older brothers or sisters, close friends, or people from their tribe or clan take care of kids full-time. Many of these families don't know where to find help. CTM wants to help kinship families by listening to them and connecting them to the help they need.
- Foster Families
Foster families are very important for many children each year. Children Trust Michigan (CTM) thinks foster families are important and wants to make sure they have the help they need.
- Teen Parents
Teen parents face unique challenges and need additional support and resources. The voice of teen parents is critical so that the resources and supports that are needed can be identified.
